On various occasions, the Jinishian Memorial Program organizes gatherings for elderly, with the goal of creating a warm social and spiritual environment around them. These events target especially elderly who live alone and face financial and social hardships.

On the occasion of Easter, a gathering took place in the Jinishian center, on 4 April 2013. The event’s guest was Father Mesrob Kerkezian, who talked about the Easter Holiday. He explained the special meaning of each day of Holy Week, such as the parable of the Ten Virgins, the washing of the feet, the Last Supper, and the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. Father Kerkezian also spoke about the symbolic importance of Easter traditions, such as egg dying and cracking.
The event included an artistic program by students of the Karasoun Manoug (Forty Martyrs) School, who read poetry and presented a number of songs. Afterwards, the students and the elderly played an Easter egg-cracking game, and the winning elderly woman received a gift.

The participants had the opportunity to taste the delicious sou beoreg donated by Mamig’s Kitchen company. The salad was prepared by volunteer women, who also assisted with the food distribution.
By bringing together representatives of different generations, this event succeeded in creating a strong bridge and spiritual bond among them.
