JMP–L seeks to reduce human suffering and help individuals in need to function more effectively in their respective communities by providing a range of social services and assistance — material and non-material.
Non-material assistance includes casework, group work, guidance and counseling, job placement, and when necessary referrals of severe cases to public or private, social or medical institutions for appropriate help and/or treatment. When needed, cases are referred to lawyers for legal advice.
Material assistance is offered through regular cash allowances to needy individuals, families and old people, especially in times of crises, as well as through the distribution of food coupons.
Those who receive special consideration are:
- Widows with children in school
- Large families with limited incomes and young school-age children
- Families with members who have special needs (physical or mental)
- Families whose breadwinner is absent, in jail or compulsory military service/training
- Elderly citizens who have no one to take care of them
- School children who need assistance with uniforms, school supplies, and transportation expenses
Our seasoned professional social workers regularly visit the homes of those who receive assistance.
